TEP funds enable the school to employ 14 staff members to teach science, art, physical education, outdoor education, and technology, and to provide a teacher’s aide in every classroom.

$290,094 for the 2025-26 school year to cover the costs of hiring 14 staff members. If we don’t hit this fundraising target, cuts will be needed for the following school year.

Each family contributes $1,300 per student to The Giving Fund at the beginning of the school year. There are also fundraisers throughout the year to subsidize those who cannot contribute to the fund.

YES. Your donation to The Giving Fund is 100% tax-deductible. Contributions at TEP fundraisers are generally not tax-deductible because you receive something for which you’re paying.

We understand. No donation is too small. And if monetary support is not possible, donating your time by volunteering at our fundraisers is greatly appreciated.

A board of 13 directors runs TEP. Directors are parents at the school. Any parent of a child enrolled at Topanga Elementary who has donated at least $1 to TEP may run for the board. Elections are held annually in June.

No. All Board Members are passionate, unpaid parent volunteers who fundraise and manage the hiring and payment of the enrichment staff.

Yes. The TEP Board meets once a month, usually on the second Tuesday at 6pm. The meeting is announced in ParentSquare.
